Brain Stroke or Paralysis

2018-11-03T09:08:44

Description

Usually, referred as Hemiplegia, which generally means weakness of either half of body and limbs (right or left). A stroke occurs when the blood supply to part of your brain is interrupted or reduced, depriving brain tissue of oxygen and nutrients. Within minutes, brain cells begin to die. It is a medical emergency. Prompt treatment is crucial. Early action can minimize brain damage and potential complications. Once, a prompt medical care has been given and patient is made vitally stable, then comes the role of a Physiotherapist. Here, physio’s job is to assess the working muscles and joints of body, plus the level of weakness developed due to stroke in the half affected. Then comes the part of training the weaker half of body back to the normal strength as the other normal half of the body. A well trained, skilled, oriented and progressive physiotherapist and his team could put the weaker muscles to the best use and train then to normal again via Neuralplasticity concept. Dr Gaurav has treated hundreds of such patients back to normal in Kasturba Hospital, Manipal as well as Kalpana Nursing Home and Udaipur Hospital, Udaipur and patients from Udaipur division in his clinic from 2005 and onwards, with his team.
